Be A HERO Good News! Newsletter - First Quarter 2007

Happy children in care

Our HEROES have been busy creating GOOD NEWS all over the world – good news of increased numbers of orphans being cared for, refugees being fed, children at risk able to attend school; freed slaves provided with homes. GOOD NEWS of hope rekindled and faith restored.  GOOD NEWS of love shown to strangers in far-off lands.

GOOD NEWS: In the first quarter of 2007 Be A HERO has surpassed the Three Million Dollar mark – over $3,000,000.00 has been raised and sent to benefit widows, orphans and refugees since our inception in late 2003. This figure does not include donations received for administration or other overhead costs, it is the amount received and sent out for projects and sponsorships. GOOD NEWS: In five short weeks hundreds of our HEROES responded to the desperate plight of the flood victims in Mozambique, donating almost $100,000.00 to the relief effort. Three Be A HERO teams were deployed – people who paid their own way and used their vacation time to organize disaster relief and assist in food distribution to thousands of refugees under (shall we just say “less than five-star”) conditions. We reached our goal for our Safe Water Project and PuR is now being used in the field to provide clean water (an “orphan prevention” initiative). For further information on this project click here

GOOD NEWS: There has been great progress made at our Child Mother’s Village in Gulu, Uganda. The vocational
